Education/Training
Peiran Chen obtained his Ph. D in 2003 from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences under the supervision of Professor Guoqiang Lin and Professor Zuyi Li, working on the bio-catalyzed enantioselective synthesis of chiral cyanohydrins as chiral building blocks. He then joined Dr. Kenneth A. Jacobson(NIDDK, NIH)as postdoctoral research fellow(2003-2005), working on the synthesis of adenosine analogies as antagonist of a2 acceptor. In late 2005, he joined the College of Chemistry and Engineering, Donghua University.
Research Interests:
The synthesis of anomerically stereo-controlled Ferrier glycosylation reaction;
The synthesis of chiral secondary alcohols and α-Cyanohydrins with dynamic kinetic resolution(DKR);
The design, preparation and evaluation of new photodynamic drugs
