 College of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology adheres to the “students-oriented” principle; creates a new mode for talent development; and devotes all efforts to foster innovation awareness, creative ability and entrepreneurship among students. The college offers extracurricular academic and technological innovation activities for students and helps the college students to realize self-management and self-service.

 The college organizes “Chemistry Festival” every year in November, aiming at creating a profound academic atmosphere, enriching of the students’ cultural life after school, contributing to an ideal and harmonious campus. Previous Chemistry Festivals take the main forms of interesting tests, academic lectures, chemistry contests, which combine creativity, knowledge, interest and practice with an emphasis on the academic specialty of the college. All activities gain popularity among students, and become one of the most influential annual activities on campus. During the Chemistry Festival, the college will host academic lectures on advanced topics, contests in chemistry knowledge, exhibition and interaction with the audience. Moreover, “the most popular teachers” will be selected through voting. All activities above become a stage to show the excellent qualities of the students, to strengthen the relations between teachers and students, to foster the creativity spirit and ability for college students.

 Every year, the college will organize student teams to carry on social observation and volunteer service, as well as the practice activities such as bringing technology to the countryside and serving local economy, which are greatly welcomed by society. During 2010 Shanghai EXPO, students from our college won the praise from travelers all over the world for their excellent performance and polite manner.

 The college always puts emphasis on the development of the creativity and  practical ability in education, offers various activities for students,  and forms a creative and practical college culture.
