Textile Chemistry and Dyeing & Finishing Engineering
Textile Chemistry and Dyeing & Finishing Engineering at Donghua University is one of the university’s oldest and strongest flagship disciplines, falling under the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. It started earlierand has been granted the right to confer the master’s degree in 1981. As a sub-discipline under Textile Science and Engineering, it is part of the national “Double First-Class Construction Discipline” and a key discipline under the national “211 Project”. In the recentnational discipline assessment by the Ministry of Education, the first-level discipline of Textile Science and Engineering was rated A+, maintaining its leading position in China.
Chemistry
The discipline of chemistry at Donghua University has always been an important supporting fundamental discipline since 1951, when the University was founded. Since the year of 2010, the chemistry discipline at Donghua University has repeatedly been listed as the top 1% chemistry programs worldwide based on Thomson Reuters’ Essential Science Indicators (ESI). Chemistry aims at training professionals for the chemical, textile, materials and related industries with solid fundamental knowledge in chemistry and, at the same time, with practical skills in solving actual problems. The development of professional skills and attainment has been incorporated into our curriculum.
Chemical Engineering and Technology
The objective of the program is to cultivate highly skilled engineering professionals specializing in applied chemistry, chemical technology, and material chemical engineering. Graduate students are expected to possess a strong foundation in the theoretical principles of chemical engineering and technology, a comprehensive understanding of specialized knowledge, and a broad academic perspective. Furthermore, they should be acquainted with the cutting-edge developments in the field, skilled in delving into interdisciplinary research, and capable of completing research projects that span multiple disciplines. Exceptional overall qualities and competencies are also essential attributes of successful graduate students in this program.
